No one can beat your grandma’s cooking. This is true especially when it comes to pacholas. However, as you grow and became a parent yourself, it’s time to pass on the tradition to your kids. Now, in order to make pacholas, you will need:
- 300g ground beef
- 2 pasilla peppers
- 1 ancho peppers
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100ml milk
- 200g bread
Making Your Pacholas
Okay, with these ingredients that you have, the first thing that you should do is to remove the seeds and roast the peppers a little bit on the grill. Make sure not to burn them though. Then after, cut the bread in small pieces and soak it in a bit of milk. It must be wet and will tear up eventually.
Your roasted peppers, garlic and onion should be chopped at this point.
Mix the ingredients with soaked bread. You may make use of a blender but it’s best to do it manually.
When you reach a thick consistency, add in the meat and mix everything together.
Make circles/ovals of the pepper/meat mixture using a tortilla maker or just your hands. Fry it in hot oil which usually takes 90 seconds. 45 seconds on every side. Dry the pacholas using paper towels and serve it either with green onions or salad.
