Quesadillas are very popular snack in Mexico. It has been long loved by its citizens. Also, they’re among those recipes that can have infinite possibilities. But for the sake of this article, let us focus on one of its variant which is the pumpkin flower quesadillas.
To make one, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 tbsp neutral flavored vegetable or canola oil
- 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 4 cups Oaxaca cheese, grated
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 24 fresh blossoms or one 10-ounce can of floras de calabaza
- Salsa, avocado slices and lime wedges as condiments, to taste
Making Your Pumpkin Flower Quesadillas
Now, in the making of this dish, you simply have to follow the steps below:
Number 1. Trim off the bottoms of fresh blossoms and remove stamens.
Number 2. Place half cup of grated cheese in every tortilla, then the mushrooms and blossoms followed by the remaining half cup of cheese.
Number 3. Heat the oil to a medium-high heat in skillet and then, fry every quesadilla until you have melted the cheese. Make sure that the tortilla is golden brown.
Number 4. Cut into wedges and then, serve at once with avocados, lime wedges and salsa.
